Safari Pals is the tenth episode of the first season of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. In this episode, Rintoo gets jealous of how Stompy is able to do everything on the safari hunt.

On a safari hunt, Kai-Lan is following giant animal prints. While on her way, she meets Ye-Ye working on a painting, Rintoo, who then joins her on her safari hunt, Hoho and Tolee too. Then, they are stopped by a giant log, but Rintoo tells everyone to push the log together out of the way, cleaning it out of the path. Continuing to follow the tracks, they hear another animal; an elephant.
The elephant introduces himself as Stompy, the tracks are revealed to not be Stompy's, and then he joins the safari hunt. Meanwhile, Rintoo wishes he was as big as Stompy. They are then stopped by a dead-end made of tall grass, Rintoo tries to make a path through the tall grass, but it's not big enough for Tolee to fit. Stompy, seeing his large size, makes a big path. Seeing this, Rintoo gets jealous, and then seeing that he can't do anything helpful, he gives up and goes home.
Kai-Lan recalls that Rintoo was getting jealous and upset over Stompy being bigger than him. Ye-Ye appears, stating that Rintoo is feeling jealous, believing that there's nothing special about him. Kai-Lan heads to Rintoo's home, where Rintoo explains that he doesn't feel special, even going forth to state that he doesn't like safaris anymore and then runs off. Kai-Lan then chases Rintoo, only to find out that he's really fast, but then sees this is what Rintoo makes special. Kai-Lan realizes the solution; "when you're not feeling special, there's something you can do; just remember what's super special about you". Kai-Lan tells Rintoo that his ability to run fast makes him special.
Stompy, while riding Tolee and Rintoo down a hill, one of Tolee's panda slippers falls off, where downward is a muddy puddle. Just in time, Rintoo runs into the action, getting the slipper, and realizes that being fast is what makes him special. Everyone then rides on Stompy, and they find out at the end of the road that the tracks were Ye-Ye's animal slippers. Ye-Ye then tells Kai-Lan that all of her friends are very special.

Stompy: "Sorry, I'll never make it! I'm not fast enough!"
Kai-Lan: "Do you know what animal made that sound?" (Stompy trumpets) "You're right, it's an elephant." (Stompy trumpets again)
Hoho: "大象!"
Kai-Lan: "你好, I'm Kai-Lan. And these are my friends."
Tolee: "I'm Tolee."
Rintoo: "I'm Rintoo."
Hoho: "我叫 Hoho!"
Stompy: "我叫 Stompy, Stompy the elephant. 你好, 你好, 你好."
Rintoo: "Oh, no! This log is blocking our path."
Hoho: "And the tracks are on the other side."
Rintoo: "I know. We can push it out of the way."
Kai-Lan: "Super! Let's push it. (giggles) We can make it a game. You can help us push!"
Tolee: "Kai-Lan, Kai-Lan, can we say it in Chinese?"
Kai-Lan: "Super idea, Tolee. To tell us to push, say 推."
All Pals: "Follow the tracks. Follow the tracks. What will we see on our safari?"

Errors[]
During the recap scene after "We Gotta Gotta Try To Find The Reason Why" part, when Ye-Ye appears, he hovers across the screen while the camera zooms out.
At Rintoo's home, a log is at the side of the entrance, but when it zooms out after Rintoo explains, the log has suddenly moved to behind him.
When Kai-Lan starts to tell Rintoo what makes him special, his tail disappears for a single frame.
After the theme song when Kai-Lan is saying the episode, the title card is already on the screen while the camera is fading on.
Remarks[]
In every scene Ye-Ye appears in leading up to the end, there’s always something that’s covering his feet (i.e. a bush), foreshadowing that he was the one who made the tracks with his dinosaur shoes.
